Teen Film Festival

Submissions for the Teen Film Festival have closed.
Winning entries will be shown during the Teen Film Festival Presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at the Virginia DeLand Blackbox Theatre.

What is Film Festival?

The Yorba Linda Public Library Teen Film Festival is an annual film contest designed especially for teens grades 7th – 12th.
Acceptable submissions include animation, advertisement, documentary, feature film, or music video.

How it’s judged

Judging will be conducted by industry professionals and library staff.

Awards Presentation

Winning entries for the 2025 Film Festival will be shown during the Teen Film Festival Awards Presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Virginia DeLand Blackbox Theatre.

Additionally, all winning entries will be featured on the Yorba Linda Public Library website for community viewing from Monday, March 31, 2025 to Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Due Date

All entries are due to Yorba Linda Public Library before 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

 

 

General Guidelines

Grades 7-12 Only
The films must be directed, filmed, and edited by teens in grades 7-12.

One (1) Entry Per Filmmaker
Each filmmaker may submit no more than one (1) film.

Film Guidelines
· Films may be a maximum of 12 minutes in length.
· Title pages and credits must be included for all film entries.
· All uploaded films must be in .mp4 format.
· All editing must be done before submitting the film.

Create between September 1-February 15
Entries must have been created between September 1, 2024– February 15, 2025, and may not have been submitted in any previous contest.

Entry forms and films must be submitted digitally via the provided online form.

Prizes
All prizes will be awarded to the individual filmmaker who submitted the film, as listed by the participant on the official entry form. Although filmmakers may work in teams, only one prize will be awarded per winning film and will be made out to the name of the filmmaker.

Content Appropriateness
Films must contain appropriate content for teens (equivalent of a G or PG film). Entries cannot contain nudity, profanity, or excessive violence. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in immediate disqualification. Film Festival organizers reserve the right to reject any entry it deems inappropriate for general viewing.
