Volunteer Opportunities

Teen Volunteer Program (School Year 2026-27)
High school students can have fun volunteering at the Yorba Linda Public Library during the school year and earn community service hours. Teen volunteers have the opportunity to assist with storytimes, children’s program, shelving, and more.
Who Can Apply:
High school students only
When:
Yorba Linda residents can apply July 25 through March 31.
Non-residents can apply August 1 through March 31.
What’s Needed:
A valid Yorba Linda Public Library card in the student’s name is needed as part of the volunteer application.
Summer 2027 Teen Volunteer Program
High school students can have fun volunteering at the Yorba Linda Public Library during the summer and earn community service hours. Teen volunteers have the opportunity to assist with storytimes, children’s program, shelving, and more.
Who Can Apply:
Students entering 9th through 12th grade
When:
Yorba Linda residents can apply April 10 through May 14.
Non-residents can apply April 24 through May 14.
What’s Needed:
A valid Yorba Linda Public Library card in the student’s name is needed as part of the volunteer application.
Summer 2027 VIP (Volunteer Intern Program)
High school students with previous Yorba Linda Public Library volunteer experience and who demonstrate leadership and responsibility can have fun volunteering at the Yorba Linda Public Library and earn community service hours. VIPs are lead volunteers who assist staff with various activities including training and scheduling of summer volunteers, overseeing the summer reading prize booth, checking-in families at programs, and more increasingly challenging opportunities. VIPs will complete a minimum of 65 hours during the summer.
VIP volunteers are chosen based on their application, personal statement, and in-person interview. A limited number of VIP volunteers will be chosen.
Who Can Apply:
High school students with previous Yorba Linda Public Library volunteer experience.
When:
Apply March 20 through April 17
